Welcome Prof. Olivier Sparagano to Serve as the Associate Chief Editor of One Health and Implementation Research

We warmly welcome Prof. Olivier Sparagano from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, to serve as the Associate Chief Editor to support One Health and Implementation Research's development from March 2023.

As an Editorial Board member, Prof. Sparagano has fulfilled his duties actively and responsibly. He is an enthusiastic reviewer of manuscripts for One Health and Implementation Research, participating in the peer review of multiple manuscripts and providing very constructive and detailed review reports. Moreover, he is also engaged in the foundation of the Special Issue "Vector-Borne Diseases and its Pathogens in Tropics and Subtropics Areas: Knowledge and Gaps" by contributing manuscripts to journals. By now, the Special Issue has received a considerable number of submissions and these manuscripts are well progressed.

In view of Prof. Sparagano's substantial support for the journal and his passion for academic publishing, our journal appoints him to the position of Associate Chief Editor. We are truly grateful for his generous dedication and continued support of our journal. Looking forward to working with Prof. Sparagano to build the journal to greater heights.

About Prof. Olivier Sparagano:

Prof. Sparagano, a chartered biologist, received his PhD from Université de Lyon I, France. He was Interim Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health and is now a Professor of Veterinary Parasitology at City University of Hong Kong. He is a fellow of the Society for Tropical Veterinary Medicine, the Higher Education Academy, the Royal Entomological Society, the Royal Society of Biology, and an Associate Member of the Royal Society for Chemistry. Prof. Sparagano's research over the last 25 years has covered topics from molecular diagnostics of parasitic diseases, vaccine development, probiotics, and vector-borne diseases (ticks, mites, mosquitoes) in a broad range of animals (pets, farm animals, and wildlife animals). He is among the Top 10 scientists in the World for "mite infestation" (https://www.expertscape.com/ex/mite+infestations-February) and the Top 2% of the world’s most cited scientists of 2021. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers and over 370 conference abstracts.
